Design
Appearance
Ismark is a tall man, broad shouldered but clearly malnourished. He has some musculature from his work chopping wood and hunting, but has a hollow, somewhat scrawny look about him. He is fair skinned, with light blond hair that is approximately chin length and has some waves to it. He is often seen dressed in a simple jerkin and breeches, sometimes with a vest.
Personality
Ismark is a tense young man intimately aware of the dire situation of Barovia and its people. As the son of Barovia's burgomaster, he feels a deep sense of responsibility towards the people, even as he deals with a revulsion towards most people's tendency to give in to despair. He is desperate for change and willing to take dangerous gambles as he looks for support in his rebellious thoughts towards Lord Strahd. He is fiercely protective of his sister to the point of near suppression, often trying to force her to stay indoors as he continues to put himself at risk looking for allies.
Abilities
Though not formally trained, Ismark is a fair hand with both a sword and crossbow. He is a skilled hunter, and can hold his own in a sword fight.
Biography
Ismark was born and raised in Barovia, never traveling very far outside its boundaries. As a child, he came across an injured, wandering, and amnesiatic Ireena, whom he brought home and convinced his father to take in. For most of his childhood, he became deeply aware of the problems in Barovia and how much his father struggled to provide for the town, and became invested in seeking more drastic change.
