Appearance

The two appear as small, somewhat skinny and fair-skinned children. Rosavalda has long wavy brown hair and big brown eyes, and is generally wearing a well tailored dress. Thornboldt is very small for his age, and looks a bit emaciated. He has neatly trimmed black hair and dark brown eyes, and wears a well tailored children's suit coat. He is usually carrying around a teddy bear.

Personality

Rosavalda "Rose" Durst is a nervous but strong-willed child. She is usually placing herself in front of her younger brother and forcing herself to stand up tall so that she looks braver than she feels. She feels very responsible for her younger brothers, and wants to protect them. Thornboldt "Thorn" Durst is an extremely anxious child who is often too shy and nervous to speak to others. He is afraid of a lot of things and often hides behind his younger sister or his teddy bear.

Biography

The Durst children were born and grew up in the Durst family home, located in the woods just over the hill of Barovia. Due to the tensions throughout the house, the children have learned to be quiet and keep out from under foot, avoiding both their parents as much as possible. They find more comfort in spending time with their nursemaid, Margaret, than they do with their parents. The children were locked in their bedroom a few hundred years ago by their mad father, who believed he was protecting them from their mother. They were forgotten and starved to death, and now haunt the house as trapped ghosts. They are too afraid to leave their bedroom, as they have seen countless ouside adventurers pass through the house, only to die with horrible screams in the basement, and believe that if they leave the bedroom something will eat their ghosts.
